Launch of Pacific Angler Expeditions

Pacific Angler Enterprises Ltd. is pleased to announce the launch of Pacific Angler Expeditions, our new division that handles all of our fishing travel and guiding. We are preparing to launch the Pacific Angler Expeditions website in mid-October and it will have comprehensive details about our featured destinations in British Columbia and select warm water destinations. There will be a link from our existing website, www.pacificangler.ca, to our new travel and guiding website.

Bulkley River

Pacific Angler Expeditions is excited to announce that we have received special, last minute access to a variety of trips in October on the Bulkley River. Early results indicate this could be the strongest year for Steelhead in this area for the past 5 years! Opportunities to fish this area usually have to be booked a year or more in advance, so if you were contemplating a pilgrimage to the Steelhead Mecca this is your opportunity. Contact Tristan Hodge at 604.872.2204 or info@pacificangler.ca for more information.

Our NEW Grady White Sailfish 272

Pacific Angler Expeditions is thrilled to announce we have just completed the final stages in purchasing a new Grady White Sailfish 272. This phenomenal sports fishing boat will be home and in the water, ready to fish, this coming weekend. We are offering 5, 8 and 10 hour local saltwater fishing charters with our professional and experienced guides searching out opportunities at all 5 species of Pacific Salmon. Come out with us and enjoy Vancouver from a different angle while you watch one of four top of the line Sage rods for a bite! Please contact us at 604.872.2204 or at info@pacificangler.ca for more information.

Pacific Angler's New Team Members

Ron Hjorth:
Ron brings an immense depth of experience to the Pacific Angler team. If his vast fishing and tying experience didn't garner enough attention, his knowledge of gear and keen eye for great products surely does. As a former long standing manufacturer's representative for such prestigious brands as Rio, Simms, and Nautilus Ron has gained invaluable insight and you can be sure you are getting the best information to help you make the ultimate tackle choice for your fishing needs.

Ron's fishing knowledge extends from the Skeena region and many float trips down the fabled Dean, where he has spent considerable time chasing steelhead and Chinook on spey rods, all the way down the coast to the Lower Mainland where he loves to chase Coho and cutthroat in the Harrison and many sloughs and back channels of the Fraser. In the spring and summer months Ron is up in the interior chasing 'bows on lakes like Roche and Island.

When Ron is not on the water he is often found on the vice tying up not only beautiful but productive flies, in particular some outstanding tube patterns for Cutts and Steelhead. He also enjoys the art of photography and many of his pictures taken during his fishing adventures have been published in various fishing magazines.

Ben Gehrke:
Ben is always a customer favourite with his seemingly endless amount of energy, positive demeanour, and passion for teaching people how to get into fish. His love of fishing is only surpassed by his love of gear. This guy has one of everything!

Ben spends most of his time on the local waters of Vancouver hitting the beaches for salmon and searching the waters of the Capilano and Seymour for both salmon and steelhead. Ben is a double threat as he is equally adept with the spoon and float rod as well as the fly rod and tying vice. Ben is a director on the board for the Seymour Salmonid Society and is also a brood stock angler on this system.

A true outdoor enthusiast, Ben also has a passion for mountain biking and rock climbing.

Tristan Hodge:
Tristan, a former guide for West Coast Fishing Club, is a graduate of UBC with a B.Sc. and is Pacific Angler's Project and Travel Manager. He is always on the go booking trips for our clients right here in BC for salmon, steelhead, sturgeon as well as trips in Belize, Seychelles, and Cuba, for bonefish, tarpon and permit. Tristan is usually found on the Pacific Angler Grady White on his days off chasing salmon or pursuing his latest passion, steelhead on the fly.
