Join Pacific Angler Expeditions for an Olympic Peninsula Steelhead Excursion Pacific Angler is proud to offer a trip down to the famous Olympic Peninsula in Washington State this March. This is a fly fishing only steelhead camp with the focus on the art of the swung fly for big winter steelhead. This is your opportunity to learn how to cast, swing and fish more effectively for wild winter steelhead in a pristine location with expert guides. The Olympic Peninsula is situated at the most North West corner of the lower 48 United States, approx. 6 hours from Vancouver’s downtown core. Nestled in the middle of the Olympic National Park are the three rivers that we will be fishing, the Hoh, Bogachiel and Sol Duc. These rivers are world famous for their amazing runs of winter steelhead boasting the largest winter run steelhead in the United States. The guides for this trip will be world renowned Jerry French and Trevor Covich. Both Trevor and Jerry grew up in Washington, calling its rivers and fish home. Between the two of them they have over 40 years of guided experience for salmon and steelhead on the fly. Jerry was one of the pioneering anglers who first developed Skagit style casting and fishing. He is also an innovator in the Intruder style of flies, helping to develop them over 10 years ago with good friend Ed Ward in Alaska. We will be rafting the rivers each day in search of strong, fast moving, hard bodied winter steelhead. Fish of the 20lb mark are not uncommon. The runs we are fishing are less than 18 miles from the saltwater so the fish are aggressive and they pull hard! Accommodations are in a cozy lodge located on the banks of the Sol Duc, only minutes from the boat launch. A hearty breakfast, lunch and dinner is included each day. After fishing each day we will be sitting in the lodge, relaxing, having a drink, talking strategy and tying flies. Dates: March 16th to 20th Included: 4 days of guided fishing, accommodation and meals. Price: $2795.00 CAD plus HST.
