OUTLOOK  Welcome to July and a happy belated Canada Day!  The BIG NEWS this week is the Public Fishery Alliance’s announcement of an information rally to support a recovery plan for chinook stocks of concern and the mass marking of all chinook salmon!   The PFA rally is on Monday July 6th from 12:00pm to 1:30pm outside of the DFO Offices in downtown Vancouver at 401 Burrard Street (corner of Burrard and W. OUTLOOK Summer is almost here and though the weather forecast for the weekend has changed and doesn’t look as good around Vancouver as we expected, the 14-day trend has warmer weather coming early next week. The interior also looks warmer and we expect good fishing this weekend. We had a comment in the video version of the report last week asking for some more details on the local freshwater scene and Alex has a piece going over the general opportunities you can expect as things warm up in the summer. OUTLOOK  Spring is almost over but summer isn’t nipping at her heels.  Again, we are going to see a mixed bag of weather with rain, cloud and a bit of sun right across the province.  This has put the lake fishing off a bit and the reports from the interior this week have been mixed.  The team was out on different lakes throughout the week so check out the lake reports below including the one from Brian Chan.  Saltwater fishing was solid this past week and though there might be clouds and some showers in the forecast, the winds don’t look bad and the tides are good.  Jason will have more info on what to expect on the saltwater front in this week at the end of the report.   On another front, we know that many of you lake fisherman enjoy a shore lunch or a fish or two for the…

OUTLOOK Welcome to June everyone! Unfortunately, the weather doesn’t look all that “June” like. We are going to see unsettled cooler weather right into next week.  This means unsettled fishing in the Interior and a little wind in the forecast for the saltwater guys.  This week, we have a Kane Valley report from Brendan where he hit some interesting weather.  For the last two weeks he has been having awesome fishing but, this week, the weather made things a challenge.  He has some tips for how to deal with unsettled weather and he still managed some nice fish.   Continuing with the lake fishing, Zach has a video and recipe for the chironomid that was producing on his interior lake trip last week.   On the river front, we have a Capilano update as well as a sturgeon fishing from shore piece from Alex. OUTLOOK We are at the end of May and things continue to move in the right direction both on the world front and the fishing front.
