Friday Fishing Report June 28, 2013

Outlook: CANADA DAY WEEKEND HOURS: Pacific Angler will be open today till 7pm, Saturday 11am-6pm, Sunday 11am – 5pm and CLOSED on Monday. Once again the weather has been all over the place the last week and I do not need to tell you how wet it has been.  However, that being said the weather in the forecast starting on Sunday is for great temperatures and steady barometer and some heat! While the weather in the Gulf and Vancouver Harbour has also been up and down it has not been as bad as forecasted.  Check the Government Marine Forecast even the morning before you go to see what is going on. Long weekend so schedule your travel to and from your destination so you can avoid the traffic…

Friday Fishing Report: June 21, 2013

Outlook: The best description for the recent weather patterns and barometric pressure patterns is YO-YO! It has been up, down and all around. We had a charter last sunday and the forecast was for strong winds in the Gulf Islands and it was flat calm. Same happened in the middle of the week as well. So, when you are looking at the Gulf, Georgia Basin for weather forecasts, keep in mind that not everything being predicted has been coming true. Be cautious but also be willing to do a last minute check on the Government Marine Forecast even the morning before you go to see what is going on. The weather looks great for the weekend! Once again, the barometric pressure in the interior looks…

Friday Fishing Report – June 14th, 2013

Outlook: Middle of June is here.  The last couple weeks of stellar fishing at Thrasher Rock are now upon us.  By the end of June the coho should be showing up off W. Vancouver.  The Capilano has already seen 1100+ coho come in to its system. The marine forecast is for 10-15knots on Friday and variable 5-15knots the rest of the weekend.  Great weather to go out and catch a chinook and some of the coho that have been getting caught early this year! The weather in the Merritt region looks great for Sat/Sun so get out there and spend a day on the lake with Dad for Fathers day! Stillwater Be sure to keep an eye on the elevation level of lakes this weekend. …

Friday Fishing Report – May 10th, 2013

Well, the weather happened. Mother Nature gave us a quick taste of the summer weather to look forward to. The forecast going into next week is a little more familiar for spring. Madriga the infamous weatherman has told us to look for sun until Saturday afternoon then we can expect some unsettled weather and rain.                         This past week out in Burrard Inlet at The Hump and at Thrasher Rock the weather has been great and so has the fishing. Georgia Strait Marine Forecast has light winds in the forecast till saturday then the over saturday night and into sunday the winds push up to 15-20knots southeast which will not have as much of an impact…

Pacific Angler Friday Fishing Report Jan 11th

Pacific Angler Outlook: Well the blow out happened as predicted by the Pacific Angler Friday Fishing Report! The rain didn’t hit the Valley until late morning on Tuesday but when it showed up in meant business. 50mm of rain blew out the Chilliwack and many of the other rivers in the Valley. This is exactly what we were hoping for. We are in for clear skies and colder temps over the weekend so the rivers are dropping and bottom line, if you are a steelheader, now is the time to get out on the water. For the next few days the fishing will be awesome. Another point of interest has been the saltwater fishing. The last few days of weather were amazing for winter chinook…

Vancouver Friday Fishing Report, December 28th

Pacific Angler Outlook: Well, the world didn’t end so it’s been a pretty good week. And oh yeah, some fish have been caught as well. Boxing Day is traditionally the true start of steelhead season and this fishery will be taking the limelight in our fishing reports over the next two months. We have had some great reports, so check out the river reports and the Pro Tip of the week below. Winter Springs are also a hot topic this time of year for the saltwater angler. We have heard of some of the first good local saltwater salmon reports for winter chinook. Jason Tonelli will discuss this fishery in-depth in the Saltwater Report below. Other fisheries to pay attention to will be the trout…
