Pacific Angler Outlook:
Well, we missed a few fridays due to the move but I am happy to say that we are now back at on schedule for our Vancouver Friday Fishing Report. I must say it feels good to be somewhat settled and look forward to some great fishing this weekend.
Matt and DImitri were on the Vedder this morning guiding a client on the fly. The fishing was hot this morning with two quick fish hooked up. Unfortunately both of those fish unbuttoned before they made it to the beach. Our client then got into 3 fish around lunch time which was landed. Not a bad day!!!
The weather in Vancouver this friday was wet. And it looks like this trend is going to continue into the weekend. The forecast for Saturday and Sunday in Vancouver is rain with a high of 9 degrees Celsius This weather screams winter steelhead.
The marine forecast by Environment Canada for the Straight of Georgia is looking average for this time of year, with varied periods of strong wind. Sunday morning looks like the wind will be peaking at 35 knots (but that could all change). Make sure to check the marine forecast before you head out for the latest conditions.
Local Saltwater Fishing:
We haven’t heard much on the saltwater front. But that is just probably because we haven’t been on the water. This will be changing though as we now have time to get the Salty Dawg out searching for chrome winter springs.
The morning tides are looking pretty good this weekend. Saturday looks like it could be a great day to be out on the water. Sunday could be good depending on what the weather brings us. As of now the forecast is for strong winds later in the morning.
BC River Fishing Report:
As mentioned before the Vedder River has produced some great reports. Here is a picture from our last Steelhead Float Fishing Course.
Fish have been caught throughout the system so make sure to just get out there and fish. Cover lots of water, have confidence in what you are fishing and hang on.
We’ve also heard of customers doing well for cutties around the Harrison, Stave and other tribs to the Fraser River.
The river fishing has pretty much been on fire so make sure to book your weekends off, or try to get out on the weekday and enjoy the amazing fishing British Columbia has to offer.
BC Lake Fishing Report:
Countdown is approximately 2.0 months to ice-off in the interior (give or take a couple weeks:-).
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to drop by our new store on 78 E Broadway (Vancouver) or give us a call at 604-872-2204. I can’t wait to get out on the water myself as it has been a while.
See you on the water,
Dave
