Welcome to the Pacific Angler Blog!

Welcome to the Pacific Angler Blog!  This will be your source for up to the minute fishing reports, tips and techniques on current fisheries, cool new products in the shop, classes, courses, special events, hosted destination fishing trips, and much more!

Let’s start off with what we love to do.  Fish!  We have had some absolutely incredible coho fishing over the weekend and the last few days.  The rain we had brought the rivers up and then they dropped nicely and the coho were pouring in and were hitting hard.

Andre’s custom coho flies have been extremely successful for our customers pursuing coho in the Harrison area, the Stave River and the Squamish area.  We can barely keep them in stock and he has been tying every night after working in the shop all day and guiding!

With the heavy rain forecast this weekend the Harrison Area would be a good bet as some of the other rivers might blow out due to the heavy rain fall.  The Stave and Capilano would also be a good bets as they are dam controlled and tend to stay in shape a little longer then other systems.  If you are fly fishing, spinner fishing, or float fishing, we have what you need for this weekends push of fish, so come by and get geared up for success.

The famous Gibbs Koho Spoon is always a top producer.

The sturgeon fishing is also heating up as the fish put on the feed bucket this time of year in an attempt to fatten up for the long cold winter ahead.  We are heading out sturgeon fishing on Thursday and will give you an up to the minute report and hopefully some pictures of some big fish!

Until then have a great day and get out there to enjoy this years strong coho return!
