Christmas is right around the corner and while the staff here at Pacific Angler are busy getting the shop ready for Christmas, they have also been dreaming of what they would like to see under the tree this year! Check back here each week and on our Facebook page to see what each of the guys have their eyes on for Christmas. It may give you some inspiration for the fisherman on your list or that gift for yourself this Christmas!
Sam’s Christmas Wish List:
This Christmas I’m hoping Santa Simms leaves a new jacket for me under the tree. I’ve been looking for a jacket that I can easily pack with me for a day out on the water so I’m prepared if the weather changes, which we all know it does here in BC.
The Riffle Jacket by Simms is a great lightweight, breathable, and waterproof jacket. We’ve all been on the water at some point in beautiful blue bird conditions when all the sudden the wind picks up and out of nowhere storm clouds roll in ready to rain cats and dogs on your day of fishing. Some of us pack it in prematurely while others stick it out and become soaked to the bone, too wet to fish comfortably. The Riffle Jacket is perfect for those situations as it is waterproof and at the same time more breathable then your winter jacket which will cause you to overheat in the spring and summer.
This jacket is comprised of 3 layers of Toray, a waterproof and breathable fabric that we see in the Simms Freestone Waders. Paired with 2 large chest pockets, easy cinch Velcro cuff to keep out water, the YKK AquaGuard highly water resistant main zipper, and you have a perfect jacket for those wet and warm days that we here on the west coast know all about.
I also wouldn’t mind finding a few Cleardrift floats in the 30g to 25g weight class in stocking this year too. They are something every steelheader should have, come in and pick some up to fill your fisherman’s stocking!
