OUTLOOK 2016 is almost over and we are looking forward to 2017. We had a great year at the shop. The weather was interesting for our boxing week sale but lots of guys braved the snowstorm and got great deals. On a whole, weather was interesting for the entire year. We had a cooler summerโฆ
OUTLOOK The rivers are coming down but it is a slow process.ย With more rain in the forecast it is hard to tell what will happen.ย Squamish hit flood levels earlier in the week and was absolutely unfishable. Scary might be a better word to describe it. Logs and trees were coming down the riverโฆ
OUTLOOK On the river front we have had no end of challenges this season but on the saltwater front winter chinook is picking up and prawning has been very good. If you havenโt put your boat away for the winter, fire up the engines, drop the traps and see whatโs out there. If you canโฆ
OUTLOOK Who is doing the weather reports lately? Every week I keep seeing 50+ mm reports and though we have seen a ton of rain the weatherman has been off as often as he has got it right. It has made it very hard to predict when to fish. With reports being all over theโฆ
OUTLOOK We have spent a ton of time looking at the long term forecast over the last few days. We have focused on the long term because the short term forecasts have been downright depressing. Rain and wind hammered the coast all week and the rivers are very unstable. The positive news is that theโฆ
OUTLOOK The weatherman owes us a beer! He was off the mark last week. There are more than a few of us who changed our fishing plans last weekend based on the forecast of storms. That said when a major, legitimately dangerous, storm doesnโt materialize, we probably shouldnโt be complaining. We still got enough rainโฆ
OUTLOOK Batten down the hatches! Earlier in the week we were watching the weather report and things looked downright scary. The weatherman has dialed back his predictions on the amount of rain coming but it is still one of the biggest storms we have seen early on in salmon season. In the short term weโฆ
OUTLOOK Wet weather is coming โ if the weatherman is on his game we are going to get drenched over the weekend. There is rain today but the big dump will come Saturday and Sunday so get that rain gear ready! This is going to shuffle things up for all the salmon river fishing. Forโฆ
OUTLOOK We have had a very wet October but the weatherman has over estimated a number of the storms. Rivers have been blown out but the amount of rain has not been off the charts and though conditions have not been perfect they have been fishable. Matt, Alex and Luis hit the Squamish on Tuesdayโฆ
OUTLOOK Fall is one of our favorite times of year to fish. There are tons of options. We are hitting the โprime timeโ for a number of fisheries and one of the biggest fisheries for the lower mainland, fall salmon river fishing, is just ramping up. Long story short, get out fishing. This week weโฆ
OUTLOOK It looks like we are going to see some rain in the forecast and it couldnโt come at a better time for river fishing. Areas like the Vedder and Capilano should see a rise in water levels and the second things settle we could be in for the first good coho fishing of theโฆ

OUTLOOK The leaves are turning, temps are dropping and salmon fishing is picking up everywhere. The Vedder River started fishing well this week and we heard a number of good reports. Alex was out at the river and Sam hit the water yesterday. Check out the Vedder report for more details Saltwater has been goodโฆ.
OUTLOOK Last year the Vancouver Chinook Classic faced some extremely harrowing weather. With any luck we paid our dues and this year the weather looks amazing! Sun, heat and relatively low wind is in the forecast and we think the fish will also cooperate. ย We had some of the first sold reports from the bellโฆ
OUTLOOK Well it was an interesting week in the fishing world. DFO has decided to close the Fraser both in the tidal and non tidal portions of the river. They cited low sockeye number as the reason and also commended sports anglers for using selective fishing techniques. Meaning that we as a community have doneโฆ
OUTLOOK Welcome to August! The weather this weekend could be better for those not into fishing but with a mix of sun and cloud and even some rain weโre hoping it will be good for fishing. We had a flurry of activity on the West Van shoreline this week and we expect it to getโฆ
OUTLOOK It has been an interesting summer for fisherman. River closures, late or low number salmon runs, mixed in with some pretty stable weather and some good lake fishing and river trout fishing. We try to always be optimistic with our report but some weeks it can be hard. This is not one of themโฆ.
