Andre is one of the most meticulous fly fishermen you will ever meet. His exacting analysis of conditions, fish behavior, and fly patterns have made him extremely effective at the fisheries he passionately pursues. You will simply not find a more devout beach fisherman, cutthroat fisherman and lake fisherman. He has spent thousands of hours on these fisheries, honing his skills and thoughts on rods, lines, leaders, and flies. In fact his flies have a cult like following and they are in high demand each spring, summer and fall. Each year we sell thousands of his famous epoxy fry for cutthroat, beach patterns for coho and pinks, and mini leeches for interior rainbows.
Andre teaches our Introduction to Fly Tying Course as well as many other specialized tying and fishing courses throughout the year. He has taken his personal tying to an amazing level over the years and is an accomplished tier of classic salmon flies. He has been commissioned to tie patterns on numerous occasions and his classic ties have been featured in magazines and books.
Andre is also an excellent Spey caster and has fished the local rivers for steelhead as well as the Skeena region for many years. It’s pretty clear that Andre loves fly-fishing, but he has also spent time guiding in Hadai Gwaii for chinook salmon as well as working in the marine supply industry. He is well versed on the topics of downriggers, mooching, trolling for salmon, crabbing and prawning. He is a fanatical plug fisherman when it comes to trolling, and loves to use these lures in the local saltwater fishing and often with great success. Not be outdone on the warm water scene, Andre has been to Belize and has checked off “catching a permit on the fly” off his bucket list.
