What’s New Wednesday, Redington Voyant and Predator Fly Rods

Pacific Angler just got a fresh shipment of Sage and Redington fly rods with some of their new 2012 products.  The two standouts for us were the Redington Voyant and Predator fly rods.  Here is a quick review for these two new and exciting line-ups!

The Voyant

This rod has a smooth, fast-action which is user friendly for people new to the sport but advanced enough for the more aggressive and experienced casters.  I see this being a great trout rod for BC’s stillwater fishing as well as a great stream rod for rainbows, cutthroat, and char.

Features:

Fast action

  • Fast action
  • Alignment dots for easy rod set up
  • Half-wells grip (3wt – 6wt)
  • Full-wells models (7wt – 10wt)
  • Durable anodized aluminum and wood reel seat
  • Comes in a cloth tube with zippered closure and a black cloth rod bag
  • Lifetime Warranty
The Predator
The rod designers originally built this rod as a pike and muskie stick but then realized that it’s true strength was in the saltwater.  This will be a great go-to rod for fishing both in warm saltwater (Cuba, Mexico, Belize and so on) and cold saltwater, on our coastal beaches for salmon and cutthroat.
All in all, this is a fast action rod with power to spare and with components specific to withstand the salt.
Features:
  • Fast action
  • Power for picking up line and fighting large fish
  • Carbon fiber weave in butt section and at ferrules for improved strength & durability
  • 54 and 42 million modulus, Red.Core blank
  • Anodized machined aluminum reel seat, ideal for all saltwater applications
  • Durable oversized guides, titanium oxide ring, robust for saltwater & for shooting line for extra distance
  • Guides: Gun smoke frame snake and stripping guides, titanium oxide ring
  • Come with fabric rod tube with dividers
  • 3 difference sizes of fighting butts on the various line weights, best matching the size of the rod, per the application
  • 12 and 14 weights include foregrip
  • Machined hidden hook keepers at reel seat
  • Alignment dots for easy rod set up
  • Lifetime Warranty
The guys at Pacific Angler are really excited about these two rod line-ups and especially where the price range sits, $200-300 CAD (Aka this would make a great Xmas present!).

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to drop by the store give the rods a wiggle and chat up the guys.  Otherwise we’d be more than happy to answer any questions over the phone.

Kind regards and happy holidays,

Matt
