Vancouver Friday Fishing Report, July 6 2012

Pacific Angler Outlook For all of you who have forgotten what a sunny day looks like… get ready! The forecast this week looks awesome! Sun, Sun and more Sun with temperatures hitting consistent 20s in Vancouver…FINALLY! With the warm weather we hope to see a more consistent snow melt and we expect a number of the local dams to hold back water to drop levels into fish-able ranges. This may slow the gear fishing on the Capilano River but it will help the fly fisherman on the river, the beach fishermen, and saltwater coho fishing off the mouth of the river. Fishing in the lake country this weekend should be awesome. If we see extended periods of warm weather over the next few weeks things…

Friday Fishing Report June 29th

Pacific Angler Outlook It is mildly entertaining when we get excited about historically normal temperatures but with one of the coldest seasons on record, beggars can’t be choosers. For the next week we can expect mid to high teens and the interior is forecast for the first handful of hot summer days. For the long weekend be prepared for a few wet days. Monday temperatures will break the 20 degree mark locally and will almost reaching 30 degrees in Kamloops. This bodes well for the local and interior fishing scene. We received some great reports from fisheries across the province as they catch up from the long cold spring. The Fraser is still giving us problems and all those planning on spending time on or…

Vancouver Friday Fishing Report, June 15

Pacific Angler Outlook The story for this week unfortunately has been the weather.  The week started off with a bang on Monday…beautiful sunny day with no clouds.  A tease it was, as the clouds and rains returned for the rest of the week. A lot of the reports have been quite similiar from the interior lake anglers.  Unstable weather with grey overcast skies and scattered showers.  While the weather has been poor we’ve actually heard of some good reports.  I’ll get into these in the lake fishing section. The coastal river fishing on certain watersheds with regulated flows (ie. dams) had actually been producing quite well up to last weekend.  However, with the rain we received during the week and warmer temperatures most of those…

Vancouver Friday Fishing Report, June 8

Pacific Angler Outlook Where Is Summer?? I am tired of talking about unsettled weather and doubling up on fleece under my waders!  Even with the unseasonal weather we have heard of great reports accompanying the high volume of fleece and long johns being sold. The forecast looks better for the end of this weekend and all of next week.  You can expect temperatures rising just above the seasonal average. This weather has us back in our winter steelhead gear “simms fleece and gore-tex jackets” As always make sure to read the marine forecast for the latest conditions.  This is a great resource to check the conditions before you head out on the salt chuck. Vancouver Friday Fishing Report, June 1st

Pacific Angler Outlook For the last 3 weeks we have seen wet unsettled weather leading up to great weather on the weekends. It looks like that trend is going to continue and we are not complaining. This weekend the lower mainland forecast looks good with temperatures rising into the high teens. In the interior we will have descent weather with temps getting into the 20s. We would like to see it a little warmer.  The settled weather should make for some good fishing. Lake fishing in the interior has been very good with some great reports from across the Kamloops & Merritt regions. Local lakes are pumping out fish with scheduled stockings. A nice one on a lake in the 5,000ft region – Thanks Dean!…

Vancouver Friday Fishing Report, May 25th

Pacific Angler Outlook Unsettled is a good word to describe both the weather and the fishing this last week. We had a number of average to good reports from the lake country. We saw some action on the local salt when the weather cooperated and there were some good reports from both Fraser sturgeon and the rivers not affected by freshet. This is awesome news because the weather looks great for weekend and the fishing should just get better. Check out the forecasts below: Vancouver Forecast and Kamloops Forecast Another note of interest in the forecast is for some AWESOME SAVINGS Saturday June 2nd and Sun June 3rd, 9AM to 7PM at our official Grand Opening Sale  click to check out details! Vancouver Friday Fishing Report, May 18th

Pacific Angler Outlook The hot weather made for some great fishing the last few days.  Although the weather has also brought a few adversities for different fisheries around the province. Wind, whales and more wind slowed down the saltwater and we had a mixed bag report from the lake region.  Next week the weather is expected to return to seasonal norms – Check out the Vancouver Forecast and Kamloops Forecast The forecast for this weekend is a bit cooler but don’t put away your fishing rod. We expect great things from both the interior lakes and Vancouver saltwater fishing. Please read below for the marine forecast. This is a great resource to check the conditions before you head out on the salt chuck. Environment Canada…

Vancouver Friday Fishing Report, May 4th

Pacific Angler Outlook: I’ve got to say it has been an excellent week of fishing.  Everything from amazing chinook fishing locally in the Vancouver harbour to lake fishing in the interior, good sturgeon fishing in the Lower Fraser River, and even some late season steelhead reports.  Yes, it is all happening here at Pacific Angler and the British Columbia fishing scene. The boys at Pacific Angler have been gearing up all week stocking up on our favourite saltwater salmon gear and lake fishing gear.  Looking forward we are moving right into prime-time chinook fishing both locally around the Vancouver harbour and Thrasher Rock.  As well, the lake fishing will continue to improve as more and more lakes ice-off and turnover. The forecast for the weekend…
